We are aware of a structural issue affecting a tunnel beneath the A36 Beckford Road in Bath, which occurred during planned works to improve walking and cycling routes.
As a precaution, the canal and adjacent towpath at the north end of Sydney Gardens has been closed to boats and pedestrians. An eastbound one-lane road closure is in place while engineers assess the situation.
