Bath & North East Somerset Council’s Adult Social Care service is responsible for commissioning a range of community support services.
We are updating on the final stages of the Community Support Services procurement exercise to appoint six community partners to deliver a range of health and wellbeing community support services.
Starting on September 17 contract award notices are being issued in phases. This initial tranche encompasses two of the six contracts in total.
- For the contract exceeding the applicable thresholds, namely: ASC Step Up and Step Down (SUSD), intention-to-award notice has been published on the Find a Tender (FTS) platform, in accordance with the Procurement Act 2023 (PA23). This is subject to the mandatory eight-working-day standstill period.
- The remaining contract, ASC Older People and Information Advice (OPIAS) falls below the threshold and has been awarded outright, with the corresponding notice to be issued as an award confirmation. Details pertaining to this contract will be disseminated shortly.
During this period, we are unable to discuss or share details about individual providers or services, even though the notices are now in the public domain. This is a standard procurement regulation to allow unsuccessful bidders the opportunity to review and challenge the decision if needed (where a standstill applies), promoting fairness and compliance across the process.
Notice has been published on the government find a tender website.
Further updates will be provided as soon as the relevant standstill periods conclude without issues and contracts are formally awarded. For the first batch, this could occur as early as 29 September, with all phases expected to be completed no later than 6 October, assuming no challenges arise.
