Advice and support at Bath Construction Jobs and Careers Fair

People are looking to get into a career in the construction industry can find out more about opportunities and training, as well having a go at some stonemasonry and virtual welding, at a free event being held in Bath next month.

Bath & North East Somerset Council’s Business and Skills team is hosting a Construction Jobs and Careers Fair, on Wednesday 20th March at Widcombe Social Club, from 10am-1pm.

The event, which is being opened by Councillor Paul Roper, cabinet member for Economic and Cultural Sustainable Development, will give people the opportunity to speak to employers, training providers and professionals about jobs, careers and training in the construction industry.

Councillor Paul Roper said: “I am very pleased to have the opportunity to open this year’s Construction Jobs & Careers Fair hosted by the council, this event will give businesses and organisations in our area the chance to show people what they do, training opportunities they can offer and the careers available in their industries.

“Bringing awareness to the construction industry is very important and links with our Economic Strategy which has three key themes – infrastructure that supports a green and connected future, innovation that drives a creative and resilient economy, and opportunity unlocked for everyone so that we are fair and inclusive.”

There will be number of local businesses and organisations attending including Halsalls, Curo, Hydrock, S&J Roofing, Wessex Water, Bath Property Maintenance, CITB, the Stone Masonry Training Board, Cliveden Conservation, Retrofit West, Bath College, West of England Combined Authority, Careers Service, B&NES Regeneration & Housing, UWE, Future Bright and the Employment & Skills Pod.
