Bath & North East Somerset Council has appointed four community partners to help deliver a range of health and wellbeing services for residents from January 2026.

Councillor Alison Born, Cabinet Member for Adult Services, said: “This is about supporting people to lead healthy, independent lives and helping reduce the need for further health and care intervention. Our investment will support partners to provide services ranging from hospital discharge, benefits advice, high quality sensory impairment support and help for carers. I am looking forward to continuing our strong relationships with partners and am confident that together we will make a real difference to people living in Bath & North East Somerset.”

From January 2026:

Age UK B&NES will continue to deliver the Older People Information and Advice Service for over 65s, as well as the Support at Home service for adults.

Nick Howdle, Chief Executive Officer , AGE UK B&NES, said: “Through our service, people can continue to access free, trusted and independent advice on care, housing and boosting their income. Last year, we helped residents unlock £1,046,902 of benefits they were entitled to.

The Support at Home service offers community-based support for up to six weeks. It means people discharged from a hospital stay, outpatients, and those who have been treated at home receive practical help and a friendly face to get them settled, and to stay with them until they’re back on their feet.”

Bath & North East Somerset Carers Centre will continue to deliver the Carers and Family Support Services.

Jacqui Orchard, CEO  of B&NES Carers Centre, said: “We will focus on making carers’ voices heard, working across the community and with partners, such as the Community Wellbeing Hub. Together, we can build more connected and responsive services that make a real difference in the lives of those who care for others every day.”

Curo Choice LTD will continue to deliver the Step Up and Step Down Service, as well as provide Independent Living Support.

Emma Collins-Todd, Interim Director of Specialist Housing & Support at Curo Choice Ltd, said: “We will continue to provide vital accommodation for a small number of people who are temporarily unable to live at home due to health needs, even with care support in place.

The Independent Living Support service will be available to people of all ages who would benefit from support with independent living, with an emphasis on accessibility, equality and partnership working.”

Sight Support West of England and the Royal Association for Deaf People will deliver Sensory Impairment Support Services.

Mike Silvey, CEO, Sight Support West of England, said: “Working in partnership, we will provide high-quality, personalised support for people with sensory impairments, enabling them to live more independently, access the information and tools they need, and feel fully included in their communities.”
