Highway works in Lansdown Road to start

Junction of Lansdown Road in Bath, with a church in the background.

Works to install a new zebra crossing, widen footways and resurface the highway in Lansdown Road, Bath are set to start and could take up to six weeks.

Following a consultation the re-designed crossing addresses concerns raised by residents and provides a key link between the footways on Lansdown Road.

Temporary four-way traffic signals will be in place at the junction between Lansdown Road and Richmond Road between 24 June and 2 August.

Footways will also be resurfaced, signage removed or updated and changes to the existing pedestrian islands at the junction will also take place.

An overnight road closure will be needed towards the end of the works to allow for highway resurfacing works, with high-friction surfacing added for the zebra crossing.

Advanced notices have been in place to inform motorists of the upcoming works. Delays may occur however the traffic signals will be manually controlled, ensuring more efficient traffic flows.

Two bus stops close to the junction will be suspended throughout the works.
