Communities across Bath and North East Somerset will come together to honour those who served and sacrificed during Remembrance events on November 9 and November 11.
Councillor Liz Hardman, Chair of Bath & North East Somerset Council, said: “Remembrance Sunday and Remembrance Day are a time for us all to come together to reflect on the lives lost and the incredible bravery shown by those who served. Together we ensure their sacrifice is never forgotten. I encourage everyone to join their community at a parade or service near you.”

Ceremonies and Services in Bath
Sunday 9 November (Remembrance Sunday)
- Royal Victoria Park War Memorial – 11:00am: Royal British Legion Wreath Laying Ceremony.
- St Bartholomew’s Church – 11:00am – Wreath Laying Ceremony at the Memorial Garden.
- The Guildhall – 1:29pm: Royal British Legion Remembrance Sunday Parade. March Past and Salute Taking followed by a Civic Procession to Bath Abbey for the Remembrance Service at 2:00pm.
- Weston & Newbridge War Memorial – 11:00am – Wreath Laying Ceremony
Tuesday 11 November (Remembrance Day)
- Abbey Church Yard – 11:00am: Act of Remembrance including a two-minute silence
- Haycombe Cemetery – 10:45am: Bath & North East Somerset Council’s Bereavement Services’ Remembrance Day Service, with refreshments afterwards in the Hilltop Chapel.
- Holy Trinity Church, Combe Down – 10:00am: Service. 11:00am: Bath Branch Grenadier Guards Association Wreath Laying Ceremony.
- Royal Victoria Park War Memorial – 11:00am: Service by the Rector of St Michael’s Church.
- Twerton War Memorial – 11:00am: Wreath Laying Ceremony
Ceremonies and Services in North East Somerset
Sunday 9 November (Remembrance Sunday)
- Compton Dando – 10:00am: Café Church at St Mary’s in Compton Dando followed by Remembrance ceremony at the war memorial at 11:00am
- High Littleton and Hallatrow – 9.30am: Remembrance Service at Holy Trinity, High Littleton
- Keynsham – 09:25am: Service at St Johns’ Church. 10:30am: Parade along High Street to Memorial Gates for a Remembrance Service at 11:00am
- Midsomer Norton – 10:40am: Parade from West Clewes Recreation Ground through the High Street to the War Memorial. 10:48am: non-denominational service at the War Memorial followed by a two-minute silence and wreath laying
- Paulton - 2.30pm: Remembrance Parade to War Memorial on the High Street followed by a service
- Radstock– 2:00pm: Remembrance Parade at the Radstock Memorial
- Saltford - 9.30am: Saltford Scouts and Guides parade from Broadway to St. Mary's Church (Church service for members of parade only, due to space limitations). 10:45am: Parade from St Mary's Church to Saltford War Memorial, for Wreath Laying Ceremony. 11am: Last Post. 11:10: Parade from Saltford War Memorial to Broadway
- Stanton Drew – 10:15am: Church service. 10:45am: Act of Remembrance at the War Memorial.
- Westfield – 9:00am: Service at St Peter’s Church. 10:00am: service at Trinity Methodist Church before the congregation moves to the memorial at Westfield at 10:50am for the Act of Remembrance, followed by refreshments in the church

Avon and Somerset Police will be conducting a police operation on Remembrance Sunday, with officers out on the streets in Bath and engaging with the public. While there is no known risk to public safety, as with any major event, police are asking people to be vigilant and if something doesn’t seem right, speak to officers either in person or call 999.
