A new MOT and vehicle servicing centre has opened at Keynsham Recycling Hub, Bath & North East Somerset Council’s purpose-built public household waste and recycling centre.

Residents and businesses can now take advantage of the first-class vehicle testing and repair services at the hub, which also houses the council’s refuse, recycling and garden waste collection vehicles and crews.

Staff at the vehicle testing and maintenance centre look after all the council vehicles and also offer a range of garage services to the public including MOT testing for cars, motorcycles, motorhomes, minibuses and vans.

Councillor Tim Ball, cabinet member for Neighbourhood Services, said: “Our new state-of-the-art MOT and Vehicle Servicing Centre at the Keynsham Recycling Hub provides a first-class and friendly service to residents and businesses. Our purpose-built reception area provides a warm welcome to all our customers and visitors.”

The new centre has three MOT bays, one specifically for motorcycles, but also offers vehicle diagnostics and repairs and air conditioning servicing as well as brake testing for vehicles over 3.5 tonnes. For taxi or minicab drivers and owners the centre offers meter testing and licensing inspection alongside taxi or minibus driver training

Access to the MOT and Vehicle Servicing Centre is from Word’s End Lane, adjacent to the entrance to the new Keynsham Reuse and Recycling Centre.

Visitors to the Keynsham Recycling Centre are welcome to call in to the reception at the MOT and Vehicle Servicing Centre to find out more or to book a test. The centre is open Monday to Friday, 7.30am to 6pm.

Alternatively, requests for MOT bookings can be made on the council website or by contacting Transport Services directly by email mot_bookings@bathnes.gov.uk or by calling 01225 477314.
