The Roman Baths Tripadvisor Travellers' Choice 2026

Iconic Bath landmark ranks in top 1% of attractions globally for 2026

The Roman Baths has been named one of the world’s very best visitor attractions, securing a prestigious Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice® Best of the Best Award for 2026 and ranking fourth in the UK.

Based on millions of traveller reviews worldwide, the award places The Roman Baths in the top 1% of attractions globally and among the top 20 attractions in Europe, cementing its status as one of the UK’s must‑visit heritage destinations.

Welcoming around one million visitors each year, The Roman Baths is one of Britain’s most recognisable historic sites. Set in the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage city of Bath, the historic site offers a unique and immersive journey into ancient Roman life. Visitors can explore the remarkably preserved 2,000‑year‑old bathing and temple complex, walk beside the steaming Great Bath and uncover the story of the Temple of Sulis Minerva in the award‑winning museum.

The Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Best of the Best Awards are widely regarded as one of the industry’s most trusted endorsements, determined solely by the quality and quantity of visitor reviews and ratings submitted over a 12‑month period.

Bath & North East Somerset Council leader, Councillor Kevin Guy said:

“We’re incredibly proud to be recognised as one of the UK’s top attractions in Tripadvisor’s Best of the Best Awards. This accolade is a reflection of the passion and dedication of our fantastic team, and the timeless appeal of The Roman Baths. It’s wonderful to see how much our visitors value their experience here, and we’re grateful to everyone who took the time to share their glowing reviews.”

Matt Dacey, Chief Marketing Officer, Tripadvisor, said:

“Congratulations to The Roman Baths on your recognition in Tripadvisor’s Travellers’ Choice Awards for 2026. Ranking among the top percentage of businesses globally means you have made such a memorable impact on your visitors that many of them took time to go online and leave a glowing review about their experience. We hope this recognition continues to drive business to you in 2026 and beyond.”

The announcement of the award comes as The Roman Baths prepares for Spring and Summer, with a programme designed to appeal to families, culture‑seekers and evening visitors alike. In the May half term holiday, a new family adventure, Mission Floralia, celebrates the Roman festival of spring with interactive activities, games and the chance to encounter Goddess Flora beside the Great Bath.  During the May half-term holiday (23 – 31 May), a new family adventure, Mission Floralia, will celebrate the Roman festival of spring through interactive activities, games and the chance to encounter the goddess Flora beside the Great Bath.

In July and August, Summer Lates will see the historic site open late into the evening, with DJ sets and live music performances at weekends. Set against the atmospheric waters of the Great Bath, these ambient after‑hours sessions offer visitors a rare and magical way to experience the site as day turns to dusk.
