Organisers of a Bath youth festival are inviting young people aged 25 and under to take part and showcase their performing skills in poetry, dance and music.

Alice Park Trust Sub-Committee is holding The Alice Park Youth Fest on Sunday September 8 from 12-6pm:

There will be stands in the park from Youth Connect South West, an independent non-profit charity dedicated to supporting young people in Bath and North East Somerset and beyond. Avon and Somerset Police will be in the park marking bikes for free and there will also be health advice from the NHS.

The Bath Community Kitchen along with Alice Park Cafe will be serving food.

Bath Urban Treescape will also have a stand in the park giving information and maps about their work as part of the official launch of two Alice Park Bath Urban Treescape Maps. One map is for adults and one for young people.

The Right Worshipful The Mayor of Bath, Councillor Michelle O'Doherty, will be opening a special plaque at the beginning of the Kanzen Cherry tree walk which links the city of Bath to Beppu, Japan

Councillor Tim Ball, Cabinet Member for Neighbourhoods, said: “We have wonderful parks across Bath & North East Somerset and it is great to see Alice Park being used for a community event aimed at young people.”

Councillor Joanna Wight, Chair of the Alice Park Committee added: “Alice Park Committee works really hard to look after and maintain this fabulous space in our city and we are all so pleased to hold this event.

“Alice Park is valued by generations of residents in Bath, who have spent time under the trees, climbing the trees or just enjoying being with the trees, so I am delighted that we are launching our Treescape Maps. They will allow so many of us to identify and know more about the wonderful trees in Alice Park."

Bath and North East Somerset Council is the sole trustee of the park which is managed by the Alice Park Trust Sub-Committee under delegation of the Charitable Trust Board.

To take part in the festival contact 07449 598104.
