Residents living in and around Somer Valley are being encouraged to have their say on the future of public transport in their area in a consultation which launched on Monday (26 June).

The proposed Somer Valley Links project aims to give people more options to travel sustainably, whether by bus, walking or cycling. It covers travel between Midsomer Norton, Westfield and Radstock and Bath/Bristol along the A37, A362 and A367.

The plans have been developed by the West of England Combined Authority in partnership with Bath & North East Somerset Council and incorporating feedback given during the first stage of the project in 2021.

Councillor Sarah Warren, deputy leader and cabinet member for Climate Emergency and Sustainable Travel, said: “We are investing over £100m to transform our transport system and deliver our manifesto commitment to give people more choices, so they can reduce their reliance on private cars. I would encourage people to take part in this consultation because their views and comments will help to shape plans for transport in the Somer Valley area.”
