Councillor Manda Rigby, cabinet member for Communications and Community, said: “Our prime concern is as always the safety of the public. We continue to work closely with Mr Palmer to explore possible solutions to the concerns he has raised about the public right of way at Warleigh Weir, which we have discussed with him at a recent meeting with local partners. We also have concerns about anti social behaviour, water monitoring, inadequate facilities and safety provision as well as safe access to this privately owned area.
“We strongly advise people to be aware of the personal risks they are undertaking when visiting sites such as Warleigh Weir.”
