All families in Bath and North East Somerset who applied on time for their child to begin primary school have been offered a place today, with more than nine in ten families offered their first preference.
Of the 1,639 applications received, 98.8% received one of their overall preferences with 94.2% - or 1,544 pupils - offered their first preference.
Sixty-seven pupils were offered their second preference of school and nine pupils were offered their third.
Nineteen children weren’t offered a place at any of their preferences and were offered a place at their next nearest school with a place available, which is known as a referral.
Councillor Paul May, cabinet member for Children’s Services, said: “This is an excellent result for families and reflects the hard work of our school admissions team to meet local demand.
“Beginning primary school marks an important new chapter. We wish all children and their families every success and happiness for September.”
The total number of applications received from Bath and North East Somerset residents for the previous Reception year (2025/26) was 1,686.
