Lane closures planned for maintenance works

Date published: 2024-06-03 | Category: Delivering for local residents, Roads, travel and transport, roadworks

Lane closure on a road.

Drivers are being advised about a series of lane closures on Bath & North East Somerset Council A roads as part of essential maintenance works including verge cutting, litter picking and gully cleansing.

Between 3 – 11 June, a rolling programme of maintenance and cleansing works will affect the following highways:

  • A4 Keynsham Bypass
  • A4 Bath Road
  • A4 Bristol Road
  • A4174 Avon Ring Road
  • A37 Upper Bristol Road
  • A39 Bath Road

Work will also be carried out on several roundabouts, including Hicks Gate, Chelwood and Broadmead.

Grass and verge cutting, gully cleansing, litter picking, street light maintenance and road sweeping will take place along each highway. Grass and verge cutting will improve visibility and safety at junctions and roundabouts.

All works will be carried out between 9:15am and 4pm to reduce the impact on traffic. All works will be carried out under single lane closures, avoiding full road closures and no work will be carried out over the weekend to minimise disruption.

Several teams from across the council are coordinating their activities to reduce disruption to motorists and residents, however Bath & North East Somerset Council is advising people plan their journeys as lane closures may cause delays.

You can find more information and view the street cleaning, grass cutting and gully cleansing schedules on the council’s website: https://beta.bathnes.gov.uk/find-roadworks-schedules-and-planned-works
