Residents, commuters and visitors are being asked to share their views and help shape the future of Bath’s Park & Ride.
Bath & North East Somerset Council wants to hear from everyone, whether they use Park & Ride regularly, occasionally or not at all. The survey asks about travel habits, how often people use Park & Ride, what they use it for, what works well and where improvements could be made.
The survey is open until later this year and can be completed online at: haveyoursay.bathnes.gov.uk/parkandride. Paper copies will be available in libraries.
The council will use the feedback to better understand how people travel in and around Bath and help shape future improvements to the service, while continuing to meet the needs of residents, commuters and visitors, reducing congestion and supporting cleaner, more sustainable travel.
There is growing potential for Park & Ride sites to function as wider transport hubs, bringing together bus services with cycling infrastructure, e-bikes, e-scooters and other shared transport options. While these opportunities are still emerging, now is an ideal time to gather user feedback to better understand current travel behaviours, future needs and aspirations, helping to inform future investment, service design and transport planning decisions.
With more than 2.5 million passenger journeys recorded over the past 12 months, Bath's Park & Ride plays a key role in reducing traffic entering the city and supporting lower-carbon travel. The service is already among the most highly rated in the country, achieving the second-highest satisfaction score nationally for the third consecutive year in the latest National Highways and Transport Public Satisfaction Survey.
Councillor Manda Rigby, Cabinet Member for Communications and Community, said: "We're proud that Bath's Park & Ride continues to be recognised as one of the best in the country, but we know there is always more we can do to improve.
“Whether you use Park & Ride every day, occasionally, or have never used it before, we want to hear from you. Understanding how people travel, what influences their choices and what improvements they would like to see will help us make informed decisions about the future of the service.”
Bath has three Park & Ride sites at Lansdown, Newbridge and Odd Down, providing quick and convenient links into the city centre. The Odd Down Park & Ride site is also served by the Number 4 bus, offering direct connections to the Royal United Hospital.
