Residents across Bath and North East Somerset are invited to meet with the council and its partners at the next round of Area Forums and Bath Community Conversations.
The events are part of Bath & North East Somerset Council’s Connecting Communities programme which brings residents, community organisations and public services together to discuss topics of interest and help address areas of concern.
In Bath, regular drop-in Community Conversations are taking place at community venues in the city. Residents are invited to drop in and talk about what matters to them with the council’s Corporate Engagement Team and partners including the police, fire service, Curo and Health and Wellbeing Services. Ward councillors may also attend.
Two sessions have already been held and the upcoming sessions are:
- November 19, 10am-1pm: New Oriel Hall, Larkhall, Bath
- November 22, 9am-1pm: Love Weston Café, Weston, Bath
Area Forums in Chew Valley, Bathavon, Somer Valley and Keynsham will also take place later this month. Residents can meet with public services, local Ward and Parish Councillors and community groups.
- Chew Valley – November 20, 6pm, in person at Chew Valley School
- Bathavon – November 25, 6pm, online
- Somer Valley - November 27, 6pm, online
- Keynsham - November 28, 6pm, online
Councillor David Wood, Deputy Leader and cabinet member for Council Priorities and Delivery, said: “It’s important that the council is present to speak to residents in the heart of local areas so we can better grasp the distinct needs of different communities. The Community Conversations and Area Forums help us and our partners understand what matters to you, get your views and work in partnership to improve people’s lives.
“By talking through the topics that matter most to people, we can develop a shared understanding and deal with many of the challenges together. Please join us and give us your feedback.”
The council is also holding a discussion for residents in the Somer Valley area on the climate and ecological emergencies and how action can be taken as a community on November 20 from 5.30pm-8.00pm at Midsomer Norton Methodist Church. Follow this link for more information and to register
